So many millions were lost with Hungary-blunder – TV 2

BUDAPEST / OSLO (TV2 Sport): 112 million had NFF (NFF) received on account of European Football Associations (UEFA) on the coaching staff had managed to take his team to the European Championship last night.

There was notoriously not, and NFF will therefore miss what would have been huge income.

– Maybe 40 -45,000,000
– It’s like crying over spilled milk, but it is also no point in denying it. Just over 100 million would have come in, and approximately 50 to 55 million in costs would come out to participate. So maybe a 40-45 millions who have come in handy, said Secretary General Kjetil Siem to TV2 at the airport in Budapest before leaving for Norway.

In other words, it was far more than just honor that disappeared out the window at Groupama Arena Sunday night.

– They could have been used over a period of five to ten year. 4.5 million a year, at least. But so it is. We do not do something about it now, continues Siem.

Players’ share
According to the agreement the players have with NFF would 25 percent of the 112 million have gone to players.

It had been approximately one million per player since Norway had gone for a flat structure of the bonus scheme.

With points and results in France Championship would also further sums have been transferred from UEFA to NFF.

– And on top of the income you have the enormous attention it would generate if we were ready for a European Cup.

– Yes, we pray somehow apologize on behalf of us all to anyone who has followed, invested in tickets, TV … To anyone who has followed us and supported us. It has been an amazing journey in the way that people have not given up. People have been there and believed in it and hoped until the very last. It is just not. We can not. And that’s something we all carry a common responsibility.
