Blatter and Platini have to answer accusations – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): Fifa says today that Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini will undergo formal hearings later this month on charges that they have violated FIFA’s ethical code. The report among other English The Guardian.

It is the German judge Hans-Joachim Eckert, who is one of the leaders of Fifa’s ethics committee, which has opened formal affair. He has studied reports from an ongoing investigation against the duo. The main reason is a money transfer around 17 million from FIFA and Blatter Platini in 2011.

The International Football Federation (Fifa) has previously rejected both Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini’s appeal to revoke the 90 day-long ban those currently serving.

Blatter and Platini wanted to get revoked the suspension present while Swiss police are investigating them.

For UEFA president Platini, who is also vice-president of Fifa, the background is that he in 2011 received a payment from FIFA president Sepp Blatter of two million Swiss francs (17 million).

Now therefore Fifa ethics committee decided to continue the investigation.

It happens the same day as Sepp Blatter said he was close to death earlier this month. In the wake of corruption charges was Blatter admitted to hospital and the cause of the collapse should have been stress.
