Antidoping Russia suspended by WADA – NRK

The suspension takes effect immediately with action, said Minister of Culture and director of WADA, says Thorhild Widvey said.

When WADA shock report was submitted earlier in the November election rather than international Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) to ban Russia from all athletics in 2016. Now suspended organization that will work against doping in Russian sports.

A unanimous majority voted to suspend Russia. The country as long as the sanction shall not be present at WADA meetings.

– What has happened is that Russia is declared “non-compliance”. They do not get the opportunity to attend the WADA meetings, says Widvey said.

– It is unacceptable

Anti-Doping Agency took the decision at a board meeting on Wednesday. Widwey should have gone ahead to demanded, on behalf of Europe, is losing face court immediately suspected offenses in the future.

WADA report reason suspension

Even before the meeting had the Russian anti-doping laboratory in Moscow been banned for six months because of WADA report. Widwey think it can get more revelations in the future.

– It would not surprise me if there’s more of this, so it is important that WADA takes this further. I hope it will be reduced independent commissions to elaborate further, saying Widwey.

Also laboratories Andorra, Israel, Argentina, Bolivia and Ukraine were deprived of accreditation during the meeting. Belgium, Brazil, France, Greece, Mexico and Spain risk suspension if they do not live up to the WADA regulations before 18 March next year.
