• Rosenborg – St. Etienne 1-1 (1-0)

(Dagbladet): Cold European Cup nights at Lerkendal evoke fond memories in Trondheim – especially when Rosenborg have just cashed gold in both the cup and in Tippeligaen.

But in Europa League has not Trønders been as good as they once were and not as good as it rivals Molde has been in the fall.

With only one point in the first four games in the group, had a miracle to about Rosenborg were to progress to the 32-final. It presupposed including home victory at Lerkendal tonight.

It then seemed to go wrong after that Alexander Søderlund sent Rosenborg into the lead, but ten minutes before the final was played, best player, Ole Selnæs , a little too hot in the top.

Midtbaneeleganten tackled Romain Hamouma that was coming out of the 16-yard box and dangerous area. Thus did St. Etienne penalty. Thus equalized French. And thus can no longer Rosenborg proceed to the final on 32 in Europa League.

Selnæs the post

It was Rosenborg who were more dangerous in the opening minutes. First was Jørgen Skjelvik dangerous frempå after 13 minutes. Secondly got Tobias Mikkelsen a good chance from the edge of the 16 yard box, but the Dane shot was not much to brag about.

After 20 minutes, created hosts two giant chances. Ole Selnæs accounted for the greatest when he got the ball served on silver at 18 meters. Midtbaneeleganten thought enough on goal, but the ball went wide.

On the ensuing corner kick so Holmar Orn Eyjólfsson heading out to dale in the far corner, but the French had cleared away on the line.

Søderlund scored

Rosenborg continued to control the game without creating much, but after 35 minutes slammed it again from a Rosenborg bones. Central defender Johan Lædre Bjørdal step forward from its stop position and opened fire, but the shot flew just past the post.

Five minutes before the break got Rosenborg finally paid off. Selnæs struck against Pål André Helland goal but instead ended up with Alexander Søderlund. Premier League top scorer did everything right and sent the home team in the lead.

Early in the 2nd half created St. Etienne their first big chance. Guests from France suddenly attacking play to vote when Nolan Roux finally got finished off a great attack but Alexander Lund Hansen hung onto it, grabbing the RBK goal.

Selnæs made clumsy penalty

After a over an hour came a new usable RBK effort from distance. This time, the Danish midfield general Mike Jensen who opened fire, but the shot went just wide.

74 minutes turned the game clock when all Lerkendal shouted penalty. Anders Konradsen beaten to from close range and his shot was blocked on the line, apparently by hand to the Premier League recognition Benoit Assou-Ekotto. RBK players shouted for a penalty, but to no avail.

Instead got Trønders punish receive shortly afterwards. Selnæs trips Romain Hamouma, who was heading away from the dangerous area, on unusually clumsy manner. Staff Sacked put Roux freezing of the goal. Leaving layers equidistant.

Neither side managed to break the deadlock. Rosenborg never got the winning goal they needed and therefore has now no ability to move on from their Europa League group.

It does, however, St. Etienne who joins Lazio to 32 final on from RBKs group.
