FIS: – This is a scandal, and it will have consequences – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): – This is a scandal, and it will have consequences. I do not know the details of the drone fell down, but I’m confident that FIS will find out what happened, and how it should be handled, says communications manager of the Norwegian Ski Espen Graff told Dagbladet.

Henrik Kristoffersen (21) ran down to victory in the slalom race in Madonna di Campiglio in the evening. The Norwegian cheered wildly, and took his career sixth win in the World Cup.

– It’s alpine history, screamed NRK commentators Andreas Toft and Trond Moger on the fly.

But what gets the most attention in the aftermath of the race is that Marcel Hirscher was almost hit by a drone when he drove down that penultimate man in the second half.

– Frightened and surprised

Kameradronen hit the ground just behind the skis to the Austrian, and was crushed.

– Life could have been lost, screamed Toft on the fly.

– This is going to get after games.

So it is Espen Graff fully agrees, but he says that Norwegian Ski basically going to let FIS deal scandal.

– I am both alarmed and surprised that this could happen, precisely because security is so high in worldcup context. FIS has a good system related to their events – even television production – so this comes we basically to let FIS take care of.

– Uff, it is ugly!

Drone Expert Anders Martinsen is general manager of trade UAS Norway, which organizes 505 of slightly over 600 drone operators who have been approved by the CAA.

He reacts sharply on the world number one Marcel Hirscher was close to getting a drone in the head during tonight’s races in Italy.

– Uff, yes, there it is ugly! That drones have nothing over the heads of people make, exemplified by this incident. From what I see in the pictures, it seems that it was not a toy they were consumed, says Martinsen.

Greater drone

Drone expert fail to see exactly which drone type it was like close stricken Hirscher, but suppose it had cameras and have been used in television production of rennet.

– The appear to have propeller both upstairs and downstairs. I would estimate that it itself weighs between five and ten kilograms. It would not astonish me. The potential for damage is huge, says Martinsen.

– No, drones over people is a very bad idea that can have catastrophic consequences. When NRK uses drone under Birken, flying they always parallel, never over.
