Vålerengas evetyrlige December continued at Jordal Monday night. But they did not get a real victory. Only extra point via penalty stroke. After lying under 0-1 and 1-2 beat VIF back and led 3-2 just over a minute before the end.

– Surt conceding that goal at the end but great we go ashore straffekonken. We won again that we managed to fight us back in the game. Stavanger has a better team than us, but with hard work we can take all, says Espen Knutsen Dagsavisen after the game.

– Yes, Vålerenga worked harder than us. Hence this result is perfectly fine, said Stavanger coach Petter Thoresen.

It was Rogalending first defeat in four games. Allready Wednesday meeting of the Lørenskog top match at home in Stavanger.

A classic

It vibrated as usual between the two largest duellantene in Norwegian ice hockey. Although many points stand on the table, there were two completely smooth layer that struggled to take the initiative in the first period. Neither side came to scoring. VIF accustomed shot statistics 08.12, but Stavanger-keeper Henrik Holm took easy it coming.

Stavangers Andy Sertich was first goalscorer when he scored the 1-0 in the hideout in intervening period. Two minutes before the period was over equalized Jørgen Karterud, also in majority.

In the last period took Oilers the lead after four minutes with Nick BRUNETEAU, a scoring many thought VIF keeper ought stopped . But VIF showed again energy in duels, Tallak Lyngsa offset and Fillip Gunnarsson sent VIF front when he put the puck in cash in the cage and the Swede scored in his fourth game in a row.

– Cult that we win in front of a packed Jordal. We have had good support throughout the season, but this match was something extra. Then it’s fun to give the audience a little back, said Gunnarsson to TV2.

1.41 before finally took Stavanger timeout. It yielded results for Petter Thoresen crew. Team took out the goalkeeper and with just over a minute left offset Sertich when they won droppen in VIFs zone. Pressure was massive and third field goal put the puck in the goal. Well deserved after Stavanger won shot stats 10-4 in the last period. Overall fired those of 35 times against VIFs 26 total.

Penalty Shot

In sudden death were no goals and it ended in penalty strokes. Oilers put only one penalty, while Vålerenga scored two tries. Jørgen Karterud riveted the last sentence of the goal and ensured extra point with gold helmet on his head. A great ending to an intense battle that Jan Tore Kjær followed closely along with the retired keeper reserve Glen Jensen.

Jordal also delivered her to the party. Obviously went fire alarm in sise period, but the speaker could reassure the public and they did not have to evacuate the hall when twelve minutes remained.

Before the match got VIF director his official farewell to massive cheers from the stands. After the match he came out on the ice again and handed out bestemann prize to Andreas Frisk and took a resounding farewell Jordal audience. The dismissal will probably sit him long.
