Northug: – I’m going to the World Cup in Falun – Aftenposten

Petter Northug (28) does not agree with Ski Federation on a new representation agreement, but in an interview with NRK is known Norwegian skier crystal clear.

– It is certain, I’ll Falun. It’s World Cup in Falun is the main goal, says Petter Northug told NRK.

There is good news for Ski Federation has long expressed a strong desire to get the largest skiing stars of next year’s world championships in Sweden.

In an interview with Aftenposten in late September said cross-manager Åge Skinstad that he was confident that the parties came to agree.

– I think certainly, said Skinstad.

– Does not use energy

It has been speculated that Northug would choose to go long runs instead of the World Cup this season – because of disagreement with the Norwegian Ski Federation. But Northug himself says he believes an agreement with the Federation are in order.

– That I expect, I do not use energy on it. There are others working with it, says Petter Northug.

But the season after the first coming, it may be different. In an interview with the Times said Secretary General Ski Federation, Stein Opsahl, Coop Agreement must be abandoned if Northug wants to go the World.

– He may not promote coop partner. He can not sell products of various kinds. Coop Agreement must be on hold, while Petter want to go abroad, said skisjefen in late September.

Last year Northug a representation agreement with Ski Federation gave Northug free to promote coop in certain periods During the winter season. It’s such an agreement Northug camp trying to get in the harbor also for this season.

But next year there will probably be different.

– Must sign a deal

– There is strictly nothing new in this. From next season there will be such that if you get caught out in the national team, and you will represent Norway’s national team throughout the season. This is not a new rule, but rules adopted in 2012 NSF Board made a clarification in the year on how the rules should be enforced, said Skinstad.

– If you get caught out in the national team and refuse, when you say no to represent Norway. You can still go trough that is not representative. This is not a rule that applies only to Petter Northug. It applies equally to Aksel Lund Svindal or Anders Bardal said Skinstad.

Petter Northug got our offer of a place on the team next season. He chose to say no to that place. Runners who do not belong to the national team will have to sign a national agreement before they can take on ski suits in the national colors. Petter Northug had such a custom deal last season.

There is a second such agreement to be signed for Petter Northug in the fall.

– All runners who do not belong to the national team must sign an agreement, said Skinstad.
