Substitutes stole the show when Norway beat Bulgaria – Aftenposten

Håvard Nielsen scored the only goal, and Martin Ødegaard was historic.

NORWAY – BULGARIA 1.2

the coaching staff decided to ask the same team that beat Malta 3-0. So we had 15-year-old Martin Ødegaard again start on the bench.

Norway started well and got a dream start when Tarik Elyounoussi arranged 1-0 after 13 minutes. Captain Per Ciljan Skjelbred had the assists.

It was a very good 1st half of Norway. But three minutes before the break slipped on a corner, and Nikolaj Bodurov got quite so freely head in the 1-1. Alexander Tettey failed in the selection, and thus stood 1-1 at the break. Norway had earned more after very uplifting game.

Joshua King had to leave with an injury early in the 2nd half. In came Håvard Nielsen. After 64 minutes, Martin Ødegaard in, and 15-year-old thus became the youngest debutant in European Championship qualifying.

Norway was not as dominant after the break, but after 72 minutes the 2-1 goal by substitute Håvard Nielsen. He finished in perfect view cross from the left.

It ended 2-1. This is Norway with two wins and one defeat in European Championship qualifiers so far, and optimism is back in full swing.
