Hallén trying to book agent stopped – Aftenposten

Football president asks Kagge publisher retract book that accuses him of being corrupt. The case will still be pursued legally.

It confirms Yngve Halléns lawyer facing bt.no Friday.

– I have sent an e-mail to the publisher and warned that it will be taken legal action against them if the book is published with these accusations in print. Now we are waiting for a response from the publisher. We hope they pull back the book and edit the content before it is published again, says attorney Jon Wessel-Aas.

In the book “Football Agent – Robber Stories Football Norway”, written by former football agent Knut Høibraaten, it is claimed that President of the Norwegian Football Association (NFF), Yngve Hallén, and Trond Filling should have received 5,000 euros each in connection with Piotr Leciejewskis transition from Polish Korona Kielce to Sogndal in 2008

– I do not know anything about this. Neither the publisher or author has submitted something to me, said Hallén Thursday, when he was told about the book’s content by Bergens Tidende.

Neither Hallén or lawyer has read the book and are only updated on the matter through the press.

– The whole thing is quite startling. For the publisher has not only failed to contact the people concerned, but it seems as if they have not done any research whatsoever. I do not understand what the publishing plan, says Wessel-Aas, adding:

– If a journalist in a news medium had received such a tip, it had obviously been followed up, but any journalist would have investigated the credibility carefully prior to publication. After doing proper research they would made a new assessment if it all was worth publishing. In any case, let the accused get simultaneous reply. All this should have been done before the book was released, not now, he says.

Impossible to stop the book legally

– How do you follow up the case?

– No matter what the publisher decides to do, the matter will be pursued legally. In the Norwegian judicial system, it is not possible to stop the release of the book through the courts. Then the allegations be of an entirely different character. The legal settlement will be in the form of an action for redress, says Wessel-Aas, adding that Hallén have full understanding of the media flare up case.

In an e-mail bt.no writing submit Erling Kagge following:

“We confirm that the publisher has received an email from Yngve Halléns law where it is threatened with legal action. The lawyer has chosen not to clarify what this means and we have not heard anything about that book should be attempted stopped. The content of that e-mail is marked by the hall and the lawyer has failed to read the book. We recommend both of them to do that. “
