Høgmo: – Can not just have Ødegaard types in the national team – Adresseavisen

VALLETTA (Aftenposten): Thursday evening, Norway beat Malta away and keep alive the dream of EM in 2016 Towards a defensive team is that the new “boksåpnerne” that gets the baton of Per-Mathias Høgmoen eleven men orchestra.

– Not many years ago we did not think we could cultivate players with the skill registry we have players like Mats Moller Dæhli and Martin Ødegaard. Now it’s about to fill other roles as well, so that we not only think about technique and skills. But we also can develop central defenders and strikers at an international level, said the coaching staff told Aftenposten.

He has undertaken quite a job, Høgmo. It introduced a new way to play, new ways of thinking, as well as the entire Football Norway united around the way he and his national team, with NFF in the back, think and work. In addition, the national team on the way out of a generational shift. Again is a young squad with intermediate experience and achievements, both at club and national teams. And a dedicated coach. Høgmo asking for patience.

Expertise

In 2014′s first eight games, he has given 50 players playing. In eight attempts this side of New Year there has only been one win. It was against Moldova in January. Against Malta in European Championship qualifying match in the Mediterranean Sea in the evening, troop youngest Martin Ødegaard (15) get the chance. Phenomenon, the savior, the player, call him what you will, is so good that he can become the youngest player in the European Championship qualifier ever.

Because he has some qualities or skills as it is called in Høgmosk, that have been missed. A kind of can opener. As can open a defense. As can open Malta. Along with such Mats Moller Dæhli.

Roles and positions

But both Høgmo and top football manager Nils Johan Semb warns against look up blind on technique and perfectly weighted passes.

– There are so clearly very positive that comes up players who are so young and have the skills the boys there. But we see that after growth in other roles are worse, and we must grasp. To get a good team that can compete internationally we need to fill all roles and positions made with top quality. There we have some challenges. It comes up quite a few types that Martin Ødegaard now, which is at a fairly high level. Many teenagers. In the same position, says Nils Johan Semb told Aftenposten.

– But we can not just have Martin Ødegaard types in the national team. We can not have Martin Ødegaard types of stop place and as back and forward. We need to cultivate some other types as well, he adds.

– Is it easy to forget that in all the fascination of Ødegaard

– It has been very focused on skill development in Norwegian football. We’ll still have. But there are many things to take on the road. For a time, we produced extremely good center backs and large spikes that were goalscorers all together. And then we remember that everything goes in waves in a small football nation. But our challenge is to bring good players in all positions. We must have a clear role perspective. So we bring out the creative player in midfield, but also the hard-working around him, the offensive backs, the tough central defenders who win duels at both ends of the court and points to score goals. It is our challenge, says Semb.

– Need any type

Stefan Johansen struck through which technical, pass strong and polished midfielder in Strømsgodset. In Celtic, he also had to acquire the “asshole” part of the game, along with defensive work, which rarely get flowers.

– We need all kinds of players in all kinds of role on a national team. Now we have some technical players and we need them as much as we do all others. It is important to also develop several parts of his game, whether you play here or there on the court. In Celtic, I have developed the defensive side of the game. Although I am a player who loves to have the ball at his feet, I must also do more things than just turn passes. It’s important. But they have a point when they say that you also must emphasize both good center backs and strikers who score goals, says Johansen.

Håvard Nordtveit is midfielder on the club team and defender of the national team. He wants Semb and Høgmoen thoughts welcome.

– We need people that sway both in the rear part, but also on top. There is no loss for our team and the way we play. It has sort of been our signature, the. That it should be physically tough to meet us. It must still be said Bundesliga pro.

Patience Test

the chief himself believes Norwegian football future is bright. It’s all about daring to be patient now.

– In terms of profit in the short term, things could have been better. But the investment that has been made and continues to be, when it comes to player development, in amateur soccer, the construction side, politically, in the union and the district level, is so good, that I think it is well with Norwegian football. We have a very bright future ahead of us. Now there also has to be patient and stand in this race. If we do that we’re going to push the limits, I am quite sure, says Høgmo.

Høgmo must begin to push the limits on Friday night. Norway needs three points in Euro qualifiers to be able to keep your patience in check.
