(Dagbladet): Slovakia – Spain 2-1

Spain disappointed in this year’s World Cup, and now continues disappointment.

Mistake

The reigning European champions played in the evening EM -kvalifiseringskamp away to Slovakia, who is ranked number 40, but it was the home side who went into the lead after 17 minutes, by Juraj Kucka.

Kucka’s free kick went right in the measure of Spain’s goalkeeper Iker Casillas, a ball he normally take, but Casillas failed to hold onto the ball, and it went into the goal.

Paco Alcacer equalized seven minutes before the end, but Slovakia’s Miroslav Stoch scored the final score 2-1 four minutes before full time.

– They struck on the counterattack. We lost concentration and they scored their second goal, sighed Alcacer against Spanish TVE, according to NTB.

The first loss in eight years

Wallpaper was Spain’s first kvaliktap in eight years. Their last loss came to Sweden when they lost 0-2 in October eight years ago.

Since then, they have 32 wins in the 35 games they have played, and three draws.

Spain meets Luxembourg away on Sunday.

– There are many games left, so we can turn this around. This is a useful lesson. For this error we allow ourselves not to do again, says Alcacer.
