Ciljan: – The pressure is there – Aftenposten

Norway shall, will and must beat Malta to nurture EM dream. You know Captain Per Ciljan Skjelbred.

LILLESTRØM (aftenposten.no): Wednesday travels Per- coaching staff and team to Valletta. Friday meetings they Malta, then it just says that’s good enough. It is marked, says the Norwegian national team captain Per Ciljan Skjelbred.

– The pressure is there, absolutely. And so it must be. It is the national team we’re talking about here. But we are used to that there is pressure. We live with it every day. And without pressure, it is not fun to play. The pressure will be there, but we are quite calm about it. We will not characterize it in any way. We lost to Italy, there was no bomb. But we have our goals and dreams, and all are fully behind this project whether we win or lose, says Trønder Aftenposten.

the coaching staff has stressed the point that Norway in preparation for EM qualification has met great resistance. To see how the international level is for the new generation of Norwegian national team players.

But Ciljan Skjelbred will not be that it makes the entrance ‘easier’ or different because Norway against a team they usually turn.

– I do not know much about them beyond the fact that it has been notified a defensive team. We need whatever resistance make a good game. We have to give everything for 90 minutes and be fully focused on the task that awaits. There are no easy games, we know. But we’ll get three points. It is the goal, says Skjelbred.

Høgmo were also asked Malta on Tuesday’s press meeting in Yokohama. As he did Monday.

– We have an expectation to beat Malta. There I said yesterday, too, was the only Høgmo would say Tuesday.

There are more changes to his squad. Tom Høgli has left the squad and traveled to Tromsø. There, FC Copenhagen full-back getting treatment for bleeding in the leg he suffered before the weekend. He is possibly back Saturday and relevant for Bulgaria on Monday. This means that the left-back position thus are more open. Probably stands between Martin Linnesstranda and Per Egil Flo.

– Tom receiving treatment in Tromsø, in agreement with both FCK and our medical apparatus. If things go as we hope he’s back Saturday. André Danielsen arrives. He may be an option on both the back and in midfield, says Høgmo.
