Oilers put the inn five goals in one period in the Champions League – Dagbladet.no

• Stavanger Oilers – Bern 5-2

(Dagbladet): Tonight played Stavanger Oilers for a playoff spot in the Champions Hockey League – and delivered a turnaround of dimensions.

Unfortunately for the Norwegian team did not go the second match in Group E in the right direction.

Battling against seven other

If the match between Tappara tempera and Oceláři Trinec had ended in overtime, would Stavanger club won the group with a win over Bern DNB Arena.

But this is certainly not: The Finnish team won 5-1 and group winner in terms of mutual settlement with the Oilers.

This had to Stavanger Oilers win over Swiss Bern to have a chance at stealing the quarterfinals ticket as one of the top five group-twos.

Four of group-twos has more points than the Oilers, who thus must fight for the last playoff tickets with the remaining seven deuces. It is not certain it is settled sooner than the last few games are played in the morning about the Oilers are on or not.

– We can be proud of what we have done, so we’ll see if results go our way, says Mathias Trettenes TV2 after the game.

Two in the second period

The battle opened with the fast pace and huge punch from home made and the Oilers withstood, even outnumbered, when Bern pushed beyond the first period.

But in the second period as it is no longer so bright for Oilers. With Dennis Sveum and Jean-Michel Daoust expelled, came Berns first goal in the majority.

After a long shot at the corner of Erik Blum, ended the rebound from Ruben Smith at Berns Martin Pluss. The Swiss had no trouble putting the puck into the empty net just before six minutes played of the second period.

At the end of the period the Stavanger Oilers more with the notes again and Kristian Forsberg nearly gave the home side an equalizer.

But the Oilers did not exploit it to be in the majority. And with less than three minutes left of the period so narrow that from the guests left, and thus led the team that was last in the group over Oilers 2-0 before the third period.

Double Oilers

Over in the third period, it did not take long before the Oilers gave the home crowd something to cheer over.

Bern Chuck Kobasew got sent off for 2 + 2, and the home team took advantage of the century better than in the second period. Mathias Trettenes reduced after returning from Matthias Mischler in Bern goal. And when enough Bern one player out of the game and had to play three against five, Kristian Forsberg quick to equalize.

Thus, there was again hope in the ice hall in Stavanger.

From 0-2 5-2

In the figures with 9:25 left of the third period hit it from the home team again – and thus the 4043 spectators in DNB Arena let the wave go.

Dan Kissel was hooked just as he was about to shoot. Bern goalkeeper gave a return of the shot and Mathias Trettenes thanks and bowed and hammered into his second goal of the evening.

When Jean-Michel Daoust was perfectly served by Dan Kissel and increased to 4 -2, and Kissel even scored the 5-2 in an open goal, so as the winner.

By then at least Stavanger Oilers made five goals in the third period, and done what they could to make the quarterfinals ticket in the Champions Hockey League – and then get the numbers to show if there is advancement of Gehenna.

– Yes, there was a fireworks display in the third period. We agreed in the locker room to give it a shot, and it seems that we did, says Mathias Trettenes TV2 after the game.
