skiing stars sitting in a meeting room at Rica Hotel Nidelven and answer questions from the VG one hour and a quarter after he read out the verdict and the court was adjourned. The sentence was 50 days in prison and fined 185,000 kroner.

– He was not grumpy or angry that I did it. He told me that I had apologized, and he said that he was as much a part of it even when he sat in the car, and when he retired to the situation. So there we have discussed and gotten out of the world.

– How is their friendship now compared to how it was before that fateful night?

– No, we have had dialogue, and it may have been important right after the accident. We had to talk about it. And then it becomes a dialogue in relation to what has happened.

VG after the interview given Northug mate opportunity to comment Northug version, but he did not wish to comment on the case or incident.

– What reflections do you have done in hindsight that you could end up as the killer that morning?

– Yes, there are thoughts that has occurred to me shortly after the accident and not least made subsequently until the present day, what would have happened if it had gone really bad. We could be … if we’d been up unlucky, we could have been badly damaged both and then had anyway, none of us sat in the car here today. Obviously it’s a tough thought to have in your head. Although the episode is terrible and shameful then you are happy that it went so well that it was said Northug VG.

– Was very groggy

Northug alternates between keeping his eyes fixed ahead and look down. He is wearing a blue shirt and jeans and sitting with his back to the row of windows in the room, where the blinds are drawn. It’s not unlike when he was interviewed by the Times in Storlien day after drink-driving for over five months ago.

– The sixth point charges were false accusation. How has your mate reacted to this?

– We’ve talked about this afterwards and I have apologized to Him. I explained that I did in court that I was very groggy and that things were unclear when I woke up early that day at the police station and submitted a false statement. In a way, I drove myself stuck in a groove there and disconnected all around. I got in a way not thought clearly before I got out and got liberated mind a bit and realized the seriousness of this, said Northug.

Northug stuck by his friend at the scene and told the court Thursday that mate repeatedly screamed that he should stick from the site. Since Northug gave three times a false statement in which he blamed his friend. The court, however, emphasized that there were mitigating the interviews were conducted in the drink and that he later that day told the truth. When his friend had already been charged in the case.

– If you apply for this fotlenkesoning

– It’s not something I think about right now, no. I have just received the verdict. Just stuff like that I do not use energy.

– The verdict was read in the day. Do you feel you got the punishment you deserve?

– It’s still not something I think about. I was prepared to come to court to receive the verdict in my day and take the punishment.

– Will mark me forever

– Did you you could have a tougher punishment?

– I had no idea what the penalty would be before I got there today.

– You seem to be in good shape. Has this issue affected you?

– Sure it has affected me and it has affected the people around me. My closest. Although it is good to be done with the matter it will affect me forever.

– What do you think about the World Cup season is still in jeopardy because of drinking and driving?

– Yes, it is self-inflicted. It just does. It’s my own fault.
