Eggen: – He he had everything – Dagbladet.no

Nils Arne Eggen has both played alongside and coached the deceased big scorer Odd Iversen. The former Rosenborg coach thinks tip had everything.

“Ivers” played 15 of its 18-year career in top football in Norway. Only a three years long stay in Belgian Racing Mechelen was the striker’s taste abroad.

– He could play for any club in Europe. When he went to Belgium, he was a bit unlucky with injuries and not entirely kind to himself, but he had everything, says Nils Arne Eggen said.

As both teammate and coach to “Ivers »Eggen knew well what big scorer accounted for on the football field.

– He was a very good footballer. He was very good in the air and had a huge sight. He could see in 17 directions, says Eggen, who has many fond memories with Iversen.

– What is your best memory with Iversen?

– There are so many, you can not ask about things like that, but I can take an example: When he scored a penalty against France in the World Cup qualifiers in 1968 and secured Norway victory. In Rosenborg he was heavily involved in the league title in 1968 and 1969, reminisces Eggen.
