Svendsen only Norwegian podium in biathlon sprint – Dagbladet.no

• Rennet is still ongoing, but no one seems to be able to threaten Svendsens third.

(Dagbladet): In the absence of Ole Einar Bjoerndalen in current interval sprint biathlon in Kopljuka, they had other Norwegian guys come forward.

When World leader Martin Fourcade missed second shooting, opened the way for World deuce Emil Hegle Svendsen could catch up Frenchman in the World Cup.

The time he had to beat was 23: 18.6, a time set by the Russian Anton Shipulin.

Olympic gold medalist from Sochi did well on the firing line, and with two full houses put himself in position to win the race.

Unfortunately it went too slowly into the slot and Hegle Svendsen was beaten by Russian by 24.1 seconds.

For a while it seemed to be silver at 29-year old, but also Austrian Dominik Landertinger went faster than Svendsen in the slot. Thus, the latter pushed down on a 3rd place.

– Not better than good

Svendsen was between happy with my performance after today races in Slovenia.

– It is an honorable location. I felt good in the slot, but it was no better than good. It was usable but not great, said Svendsen NRK.

29-year-old fired two full houses at the shooting but was defeated by 26 seconds in the track of Martin Fourcade. Nrk ask if there is something wrong with your skis.

– Well, I lose a lot of easy-terenget, and I do not usually. But I will not say much more about it, answer Svendsen.

Meanwhile says he is pleased with the efforts on the firing line.

– It was awesome on the firing line today, and I think I went pretty fast, so I’m happy.

Just behind Svendsen fell Martin Fourcade, who despite the boom went into a strong fourth place. Thus it is minimal points Svendsen scarce onto World rival.

Two Boom Bo

After the first shooting, it seemed that the little brother Bo, John Thingnes should go all the way to victory. Youngster, Bjorn Ferry has predicted this year’s biathlon name, missed however twice other shooting.

It made John, who won the sprint last weekend in Hochfilzen, was overtaken by brother Tarjei, and ended on August 1. place 46.7 seconds behind tet.

Tarjei Bø shot like Svendsen two full houses, but did not deliver in track and ended 38 seconds behind Shipulin on 6th place. It is the third sixth place his running.
