Spain ready for EM-final – Aftenposten

If Norway beats Sweden, it becomes a new meeting with the Spaniards.

A bright start ensured that Spain is in its first EM-finals in the women’s handball since 2008. Montenegro was underperforming directly, never came back in the semifinals and lost 18-19 Friday.

Spain scored just six goals in 2nd half after 13-8 at halftime, but it was enough. Thus Spain Norway final opponent if handball girls do the job against Sweden.

When Norway met Spain in the group stage was Norwegian victory with 29-26.

The Spaniards had a super goalkeeper in Silvia Navarro. She is not great. With 169 centimeters she lies far below the height average for toppmålvaktene.

Camilla Herrem call Navarro “a bouncy ball.”

A tired Montenegro played without its tough and often abusive Suzana Lazovic. She was excluded after a foul on Linnea Torstenson Wednesday.

Montenegrins played Olympic final in 2012 and lost to Norway. Some months later met the same team again, and then won Montenegro European Championship final. (© NTB)
