France’s protest rejected: – It is embarrassing and embarrassing – TV 2

The European Handball Federation (EHF) has chosen not to take France’s protest after Tuesday’s game against Germany to follow. It confirms EHF in a statement.

Rejects protest
The reason for the protest was that Germany had six players on the field, while they actually had one player sent. Thus, it was one outfield too much on the pitch when they scored one of their goals in the match that ended 24-24.

– France is really cheated here. They could play six against four in a crucial period in the game. There is a huge advantage, says TV2 handball expert Randi Gustad.

– I have not experienced it before.

France wanted EHF would deprive Germany one goal and give further play expulsion – which thus would lead to French victory in the battle. The protest was dismissed on the basis that the judges and Secretariat decisions during the matches shall be final.

“Accordingly EHFs disciplinary committee concluded that the judges decision to approve goal number 17 for the German team (scored by player number 8 Anne Müller), although the seventh player (not involved in the game) on the pitch while playing number 31 on Germany still serving a two minute suspension was an actual decision based on recommendations from the EHF delegates of the game. Protests relating to such decisions shall be rejected as foreseen in the relevant EHF regulations, “writes EHF in the press release.

France has until. 20.00 tonight if they will appeal the case.

– Embarrassing and embarrassing
The justification is not well received by TV2 handball experts.

– It appears I was very, very flimsy and general. EHF treat this 17th goal for Germany as an event in the actual battle. Then include the delegates sitting in the Secretariat, together with a judge’s decision and let it be the cause, said Gustad.

– It is embarrassing and embarrassing when we have someone who sits and to do the job. They are good to discover that two too many cheers and standing on the bench. It is almost scandalous. It is embarrassing for EHF, says Frode Scheie.

For Germany did not profit anything to say – they are already out of the European Championships.

But France can point loss have serious consequences. Both Sweden and Montenegro won their matches Tuesday – it led to the fall of France to fourth place in the group. First- and second placed Sweden and Montenegro meet Wednesday. France meets the Netherlands and is dependent on victory and that other results go their way to reach the semifinals.

– Now they risk losing semi-final spot. There are economic things inside the image. There are lot of resources and training that is laid down. I had hoped for a more orderly and accurate processing of such a process, says Gustad.
