– Norway was known for long balls. In Celtic, we try to play beautiful football, says 24-year-old.
Stefan Johansen has been a great success in Celtic after transition from Strømsgodset about a year ago. Vardo boy playing solid in midfield to the Scottish league champion, and now he has a certificate strong effort over time.
The 24 year old was in February awarded the prize for “month playing” in Scottish Premier League after among Others to have scored four goals in seven matches.
– It is always good to win awards. It shows that they are doing something right. I’m probably in my best shape in their careers, says Johansen, according Scottish Daily Record.
One of them gets the credit for Johansens strong form in Celtic suit is coach Ronny Deila. After a medium starting in Glasgow club, now 39-year-old really started to put his stamp on the traditional club – and with a playing style that turns heads. Barcelona style with much possession and high pressure is ideal.– Ron is very popular in Norway. He trained a small club that Strømsgodset and we played very good football. At home there are many teams that focus on long balls and much fighting. But he became popular for the way he got us to play on, and you can see it at Celtic, says Johansen.
– The coaches look to Barcelona and the way they play. It is beautiful football and we try to play that way, believes midfielder strategist.

Celtic manager Scottish Premier League with a good margin, and is well placed to win “The Treble” both league and the two domestic cups. Johansen believes Deila is about to shatter some of the myths that still hangs on Norwegian coaches in the British Isles.
– When we struggled earlier in the season there were many who talked about it. Ole Gunnar Solskjær went from Molde to Cardiff and got fired. Therefore, it was questioned about the coach very early, says Johansen.
– But I knew he was going to fit well in Celtic. If the club gives him time and let him do things his way he’s going to win many trophies here, says 24-year-old.– I was never worried about him, to be honest. Believes Norway plays more modern
Stefan Johansen believes to see a big contrast from Drillo epoch football philosophy in Norway until Delicious more modern approach.
– Norway was famous for his long balls during Egil Olsen, and it is still a little way. But part layer is about to do well in other ways. Landslaget plays in a more modern way now, says Johansen.
Egil “Drillo” Olsen period Wimbledon is often mocked in the British press. The former successful Norwegian national team was almost ridiculed for its “primitive” approach – and their use of rubber boots on wet English grass mats.
It helped nor on the Norwegian coaches reputation that Wimbledon were relegated from the Premier League one season Olsen led them.– Dead long balls out with the national team? We have no high peaks longer !, chuckles Johansen meeting with Scottish press.
Impressed in Europe
Ronny delicious layer gets too much praise in Scottish press after the strong efforts against Inter europa league for barely two weeks ago.
Having clear 3-3 at home, were delicious layer turned out with scarce margin after losing 1-0 in Milan. There is a great contrast to the relaxing start of the season when Celtic not convinced in the domestic league and also managed to get knocked out of qualifying for the Champions League twice, first against Henning’s Legia Warsaw, then the Slovenian Maribor.
– This is a great chance to be historic. Players have been involved in a lot, won the league and the Champions League. But none of them has won “the Treble.” Now we have the chance, and then applies it to keep up the concentration, said Deila last week.
