Qualification Improvement case: Accused said the opposite in court than in the police explanation – Dagbladet.no

Oslo District Court (Dagbladet): Formose Pape Mendy is accused of having participated in match-fixing as Follo player in the fight against Østsiden 24th June 2012.

Today he went diametrically against what he has previously explained in police interrogations.

– Never received money

He has previously confirmed that he was offered money to contribute to fix a fight, but he declined the offer.

Mendy was also confronted with that he was with on a trip to Sweden in a part of a planned match-fixing.

But he claimed he was only on a lads. And to buy snuff.

– Did you buy snuff? , the judge asked.

– Yes, I bought something at a gas station .

– Do you remember where?

– No, said Mendy.

– Do you remember where you crossed the border ?

– No, said Mendy, who at all did not remember much of what happened in that period.

Spoke with girlfriend

– I spoke with her boyfriend once a match fixing, explained Mendy prosecutor.

Mendy explained in police interrogation that he had told his then girlfriend that he had been offered money to attend match-fixing. In court, he changed it to that he had only talked to her about the topic.

The prosecutor asked whether the defendant had a comment to what he had previously told the police interrogation, while he now denies that this has happened.

– I do not know. It was just nonsense. I have no idea, said Mendy prosecutor.

Mendy said he had saved up 50,000 pounds for a trip to China. He had also borrowed an amount of his girlfriend.

Switched telephone

Mendy switched telephone after the alleged match fixing no one would have taken place.

He paid for the phone cash.
