Infantino ny president i FIFA – TV 2

Gianni Infantino received 88 of the 207 votes in the first round, while Sheikh Salman got 85.

However, it was a requirement of two-thirds the plural in the first round to get Sepp Blatter’s successor. So we had candidates through a new round before the new president could be announced.

In order to determine a choice winner had candidate must have over 50 percent of the vote.

In the second round got Gianni Infantino 115 votes, while his rival Salman got 88. Thus, the 45-year-old Swiss was elected the new FIFA president three years.

– it was a relief. The reports we received from those who had been at Prince Ali was that the early went over to Infantino. They would not have a third round. In addition, they had been shown that they supported Prince Ali, but when he did not get more votes so they went to Infantino and got it settled. I think everyone thought was good, said NFF president Yngve Hallén to TV2 Sport after the election.

Infantino: – Should rebuild FIFA
TV2 expert Erik Thorstvedt think it was a great surprise of Europe’s candidate won the vote.

– This was a big peel and a surprise. But it was the best for the organization. But Infantino has a difficult job to do in terms of job waiting. He has a huge job ahead of them, and must be extremely skilled, expert said.

Infantino promised to build up FIFA’s reputation when he spoke at the podium after his victory.

– Thanks for my election. It’s hard for me to describe how I feel right now. I will be a president for all 209 member nations, said Infantino after winning elections with its 115 votes.

– I want to start a new era in which football can be in focus. We need reform, but we must also show respect. We must show the respect football deserves worldwide. Let’s work together for this. We will rebuild the reputation of FIFA, he stated in his acceptance speech.

– Hallén cheered for Infantino
Commentator and FIFA expert Andreas Selliaas’m glad Infantino won.

– When he won I found that NFF president Yngve Hallén cheered for Infantino in the audience. He won clearly and for many surprising for most people here. But many in FIFA’s probably very relieved that was elected as FIFA president, said the commentator, and stated:

– This was a much better option than Salman. He’s probably very disappointed and angry now. But Salman has been very arrogant throughout. He has sent threatening letters to journalists, refused to meet the press and run a dirty campaign. I believe that Salman lose much campaign now, he said.

Feared Salman victory
Yngve Hallen spoke to TV2 Sport after the first round of voting. He was surprised that Europe’s candidate Infantino did so well.

– We knew it would be evenly between Salman and Infantino. Infantino received in addition to Europe votes from Oceania, Asia and South Africa, said Hallén.

Former board member of UEFA, Per Ravn Omdal, has always been highly critical of Sheikh Salman as possible new FIFA president .

– It is clear that there many who have noted the allegations directed against Salman considering violations of human rights in Bahrain and harassment of football players and other athletes, said Omdal to TV2 Sporten during live coverage of the election.

strong accusations
He took Salman said on the podium at the FIFA Congress with a large pinch of salt.

– it’s often like that you should not take everything at face value when it comes to people who have come in such positions. Asia’s football association has had problems, and now it’s better. But that is as fantastic as Salman said, I do not think, said Omdal.

TV 2 expert Erik Thorstvedt recalls that Salman has got serious accusations leveled against them.

– there are allegations of human rights violations in Bahrain during the Arab settlement. Salman should have had the task of finding athletes who were against the regime, and imprison and torture them. He denies this yourself, but of course booklets this still with him, said Thorstvedt.

The hall: – A Nightmare on Salman had been president
NFF president Yngve Hallén thought it would be a nightmare if Salman was chosen.

– there will be a nightmare for us because we already have a nightmare related to Qatar and the questions around there. His story and his family story surrounding the Arab Spring will come up again and you will get a big discussion again around human rights and other things that we do not we want to come now in FIFA, but that we will have to reform FIFA. Then I think we will have enough space and time to focus on the important issues, said Hallén to TV2 Sport before the election.
