Sensational results in the U23 World Cup. Star Smell for Northug and co – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): Norway has about winning the World Cup this season. Therefore, the Swedish cross-country specialist Tomas Pettersson worried nordic sport’s future. He fears that the sport can be destroyed by the Norwegian dominance.

in the women’s class defended quartet Mari Støen Gussiås, Marthe Bjørnsgaard, Silje Theodorsen and Thea Krokan Murud the Norwegian colors. All performed well during the prologue, with Støen Gussiås as the best of the Norwegian eighth.

In the quarterfinals, very careful VM sprint over for the whole Norwegian World Cup quartet. Theodorsen and Gussiås Støen were both finished fourth in their heat, while Bjørnsgaard and Krokan Murud ended respectively second last and last.

World Championship gold went to Sweden and Jonna Sundling. There were also Swedish bronze Maja Dahlqvist. Swiss Nadine Fähndrich took silver medal.

Junior Championships continue with skate sprint in junior class later today.
