- Brilliant Martin Ødegaard Asked Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the shade – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): Norway – Sweden 0-0.

Superbowl last night deserved well, not much more than the gentle roar of the roughly 20,000 at Ullevaal but Martin Ødegaard survived at least up to the growing expectations out on pitch.

The youngster showed more evidence for his playful technique, and both simple touches on the pitch and several homing through passes showed that Ødegaard has taken steps for their months in Madrid.

Internationally, they also impressed.

Excellent performance

“Martin Ødegaard was the big star in the goalless draw, and asked Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the shade,” writes the Daily Mail one of their long titles, and continues:

– Ødegaard continued its impressive performance with a brilliant performance in the Scandinavian showdown between Norway and Sweden in Oslo. In a chance poor game Ødegaard the most creative player on the field, and asked Sweden’s more prominent frontman Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the shade.

The Swedes stood with a holed troop in early summer evening in Oslo, and delivered well either no big performance 0-0. Aftonbladet writes Simon Bank clearly states that this Norway-edition “can be better than Sweden,” in his piece for the settlement.

– The pace was training low, which made initially pleasant – but futile. I’ll be honest step pulse only once, and that was when Omar Elabdellaoue overlapped a ball bearing Martin Ødegaard. That in itself was nothing sensational, but it was a modern, exciting back talent as intoxicated by a 16-year super talent of Real Madrid. Sweden has much that Norway has not – but that we have not, writes Bank.

Cool young rock star

Banks colleague in Expressen, Mathias Luhr, biting her mark in how Swedish players treated Martin Ødegaard outfield:

– A bit like a cool, young rock star, who should nevertheless be put in place, writes Luhr, and describes how Kim Källström after a tough tackle on the youngster walked away and patted him on the head of fatherly manner.

– Kim looked enough like the rest of us that live something great in this boy, something very special.

Top attention yesterday, of course, Zlatan Ibrahimovic ‘his reflections around Ødegaard, and 34-year-old left also leak that he was småimponert by what he saw.

– He looks good. He plays easily and get lost the ball. He has yet plenty of time to develop further, but it’s cool that he gets to play in the national team right now, said Zlatan, before seconds later was asked what advice he would give to the phenomenon Martin Ødegaard (16) and delivered a message that almost only he can:

– He has well a dad as he controls entirely. He must grow and become man. And let go of his dad, says Zlatan while over 50 journalists were battling for places in front of him.

NB! Martin Ødegaard is rewarded with a grade four in today’s print edition of Dagbladet – it is obviously a misprint. Proper exchange for the Norwegian guys can be found here.
