Finally Norwegian victory in Oslo Grand Prix – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): B.B.S. Sugar Light won the Oslo Grand Prix and achieved tremendous cheers at Bjerke.

It is ten years since it last became a Norwegian horse who won the big race. Then it was Steinlager. Now it B.B.S. Sugar Light for all the money.

The horse stuck in Elitlopp at Solvalla two weeks ago and did not spent forces. So did the Norwegian horse today. Coachman Peter Untersteiner drove resolutely forward and did take over the lead after 600 meters.

Since the horse was actually not threatened. The driver pulled the blinkers first 20 meters before the finish.

That’s how easy it was Norwegian triumph.



Fantastic Development

– It’s amazing the progress horse has done. And I’ve been a part of everything. Just enjoy, said Peter Untersteiner at RD after the victory.

The horse struggled to win lunsjtravløp in Norway. But then things began to happen. And when Peter Untersteiner were engaged, took Hesen of earnest.

And Untersteiner continued:

The world’s best

– The horse is definitely one of the best. He won Olympic trot, stuck twice Elitlopp. And then he wins for sure today.

Co-owner and trainer Fredrik Solberg was brilliant happy after the race.

– Now everything is just lovely, said Solberg at the ceremony space. It was much bigger to win here at home than at Åby, said Fredrik Solberg.

The winning time was so strong that 1.11,3. No horse has trotted faster in Oslo over 2100 meters.

BBS Sugar Light is the fifth Norwegian horse who wins the race. Those who have triumphed in the big race tidliere is Scott Protector, Rex Rodney, Sugarcane Hanover and Steinlager.

BBS Sugar Light gained 1.5 million of victory.



Solid Norwegian

The other two Norwegian participants also delivered solid race and showed that they also belong to the world top.

– The horse went a very good race. Had we gotten a track further into the field, then I think we could actually fought for victory.
Then we had possibly gotten the lead, said Geir Vegard Gundersen about efforts to Support Justice.

Trainer January Kristian Waaler was delighted with the efforts of the field’s only five years old in this race for older international stars.

– I am convinced that we have a horse best in the world soon, though there are some injuries in road said Waaler after big race was over.

The three Norwegian horses were first, third and fifth in goals.
