Drama as Tutta took his first victory in 588 days – won 1.8 million. NOK – VG

Suzann Pettersen (34) can late Sunday night finally rejoice – after 35 turner Refugees and 588-day victory drought.

Norwegian golf star wins LPGA tournament in Canada after a dramatic final round where she settled with birdie (one under par) on both holes 16 and 17.

She won last on 27 October 2013. Since then, Suzann Pettersen struggled before she was back Sunday at the top. It’s her 15th victory on the LPGA Tour.

The victory gave 1.8 million. NOK account. Suzann Pettersen is thus up to over 100 million. Million recorded in his career – if we anticipate closing rate.

Britanny Lang of the United States finished second, one stroke behind Tutta.

Pettersen led by one stroke after three days of play. Young Mariajo Uribe of Colombia was in 2nd place, but she was unable to control my nerves on the last lap. Uribe still managed to row ashore 3rd place in the end.

Both Britanny Lang and Cristie Kerr played however sparkling, while Tutta had a disappointing start to the day with bogey (one over par) on both holes two to five. During the first three rounds (54 holes), she had not a single bogey and was an impressive 19 under par before the last day.

Eagle

She went in the lead defender eagle (two under par) on Sunday 12th hole, but the performance was of little use when she got bogey on hole 13.

Thus, it was extremely smooth and exciting towards the end: Kerr fool of himself with a bogey on hole 15 and dropped out of the victory battle. With two holes left for Tutta had long finished his round with a total of 21 under par – equally with the Norwegian player.

Pettersen spent only two strokes on the par three hole number 17 and thus secured the victory with a total of 22 under par. Sunday’s round, she went three under par.

Major weekend

Next weekend is clear for one of the year’s highlights: Major tournament LPGA Championship. Pettersen has won two such top tournaments in his career, one of which was the LPGA Championship in 2007.

Manager Geir Olav Killingstad stated that Tutta not notice anything in the shoulder that has given her trouble this spring. She did not compete in an entire month. Suzann had to throw in the towel after two rounds in Lotte Championship mid-April.

Number 10 in the world

Before today’s decision in Canada Open stood Suzann Pettersen by a total of 14 victories on the LPGA Tour. Nine of these came in the years 2007 and 2013 – Tutt two peak year so far in his career.

After disappointing games in 2014 and so far in 2015 is Suzann Pettersen now number 10 in the world rankings. Sunday’s victory will likely give a jump on all five seats on the ratings.
