Now tip the final goal – Aftenbladet.no

8. January 2008 went Joshua King to England to join Premier League striker. Seven and a half later yesterday dream come true.

ULLEVAAL / LILLESTRØM (Aftenposten): – There will be a new beginning for me, admits King, who was good in one game against Sweden and is an obvious starting choice on top of Norway in the European Championship qualifying match against Azerbaijan at Ullevaal Friday night.

8. January 2008 went a very promising youngster from suburbia Romsås to Manchester and United’s reserve team.

It was a nine-minute long innhopp for the A team in ligacup match against Wolves at Old Trafford in September, 2009.

Nåløyet Manchester United was cramped and after that King visited Preston, Borussia Monchengladbach, Hull and Blackburn. He has been injured and he has been misused. King has yet to play a single minute in the Premier League.

But now he is ready for the newly promoted Premier League club Bournemouth. There, he will focus on that point. King In other words, the goal when the league starts on August 8.

“A dream transitional”

– In my eyes it is a dream transition. I think about how they’ve played this year, the football they stand for, their coach (Eddie Howe). In Bournemouth will be played along the ground, so I was trained in the United. At Blackburn just too many high balls. And I was used too much on edge. It is wonderful to start all over again and move to a new location.

– Is there a restart of his career?

– There will be a new beginning .

– There are seven and a half years since you went to England. Now you finally Premier League player. What happened on the road?

– I think I had been there even earlier if it had not been for that I suffered me so many injuries. That’s how football is, it goes up and down. In the games I’ve played this year, which is not so many, I have done very well. I now get the chance to be part of a team on the rise, a club that has done well over several years and climbed up the league’s only positive.

Do not look back

We’ve talked about Joshua King for many years. We have compared him with John Carew. And we have seen the potential. Most recently when he scored three times against Stoke in the FA Cup fifth round in February.

– Anyone can blame something. Why they’re there they want, and so on and so forth, but I get there now. And I must seize this chance.

– Are you the type who does not look back?

– I’m looking forward. There’s no point looking back, it is “gone and dusted.”

The hardest profession

Scout John Vik has followed Joshua King closely since he was 15 years old. Vik was involved when King went to Manchester United in 2008. He is not surprised that it has taken time to become Premier League players.

– It takes time to become Premier League player. Joshua is pointed, it is one of the hardest to get. He has chosen the hardest profession in the hardest league. But he has taken their degree good, he has become a Norwegian national team and he will be very proud. I hope that Joshua organizing injury situation, it will take him to the next level – for example, that he becomes a stable Premier League striker. Joshua had been injury in Blackburn, he shot himself out of the division earlier, think Vik adding:

– David Beckham broke through first when he was 21 years old. Harry Kane something similar. It’s a long way to become Premier League player. There are very few who have managed it at a young age, Wayne Rooney and Theo Walcott are among the exceptions.

King travels to the seaside resort of Bournemouth on 27 June. But first he and Norway secure three points in the European Championship qualifying match against Azerbaijan on Friday.

Speaking lot with Carew

In the entrance of this collection he got good advice from the player he often has been compared with John Carew.

– I talked to him just. It is not often we talk. Maybe once a month. We’re from the same country (both father and mother from Gambia from Norway) and he has been in the same position. He has achieved much in his career that I also want to achieve.

– What does he say?

– It is personal.

– What can you learn from talking with someone who has achieved so much in his career?

– Part. And it’s not just football we’re talking about. We talk about life in general. He is a very nice guy, he’s always been cool with me, as a “brother” since the first time we talked. But I would not call him a counselor. I will not go so far.

PS! Norway meets Azerbaijan Friday 12 June. 20:45.
