Fearing Dinamo Zagreb but believes Molde has one distinct advantage – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): Molde were this afternoon drawn to a meeting with Dinamo Zagreb and Fola Esch from Luxembourg in the third qualifying round for the Champions League.

Romsdalingene must indeed get rid of Armenian FC Pyunik before next double settlement, but after the 5-0 home this week, is coming Tuesday’s return match in Yerevan a mere formality.

Dinamo Zagreb is ranked as Europe’s 88 best club teams, and was on paper the easiest opponent moldenserne could get the seeded teams.

– A very good team

Fola Esch, who surprisingly failed 1-1 in the first match between the teams, is ranked as low as 349. place of UEFA, ie almost 200 notch behind Molde on 151. place.

The draw was just as Molde boss Ole Tor Skullerud dreamed. Tuesday he said namely this Dagbladet:

– We want a team that is as poor as possible.

Dinamo Zagreb is anything but a bad team, but was thus weakest ranked by Moldes possible opponents.

– Some of the other teams we could have got so perhaps even sharper out. But we know, having seen Dinamo Zagreb at La Manga in February, that it is a very good team, says Skullerud Molde FK TV channel after today’s draw.

– Tough task

He reminds simultaneously that it probably will Dinamo Zagreb Molde to meet.

– Now they admittedly on from the first round first. They’ve got a little hard point like it looks now. We must prepare ourselves for whatever it is Zagreb, and it becomes a tough task, says the outgoing Molde boss.

Skullerud admits he does not know anything about Fola Esch from Luxembourg.

– No, I do not know, but they must be good since they came from Zagreb 1-1, he said.

And whether Molde meetings Dinamo Zagreb or Fola Esch, there is one thing Skullerud are very pleased: At Molde get away match first.

– I like that. Where we are not in complete agreement on the team, but I think it is a distinct advantage. We must still do the job in Armenia first, and so this will be a big party. This is the funniest thing we do, he said.

Europa League chance

Moldes matches in the third qualifying round is played on Tuesday 28 or Wednesday 29 July, with the return match at Aker Stadium the following week.

If Molde takes further from the third qualifying round, they continued through the playoff matches against a supposedly stronger opponent before they can start looking forward to the Champions League group stage.

About club bust in Champions League playoff, they will play in the Europa League instead. About the bust in the third qualifying round, they play playoff at the same tournament.
