Skullerud: – Dinamo are still favorites – Aftenposten

Tor Ole Skullerud does not take off despite fighting result in Zagreb.

DINAMO ZAGREB – MOLDE 1- 1

ZAGREB (rbnett.no): Molde delivered a more than passable game, and came up 1-1 in the first encounter against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League qualifiers. Ola Kamara scored the vital equalizer goal that makes Dinamo Zagreb will have to score goals in Molde.

– I am happy with our away goal. We should defend ourselves better on goal against, but we did not let so many chances otherwise. I counted at least not so many, and we did well defensively, said Tor Ole Skullerud at the press conference after the game.

– A good job

He thinks MFK performed well outside on the grass lawn, and laid down a solid effort. Several of the players let down many meters, and were tired towards the end of the game.

– It was a good job. We worked hard for 90 minutes and came out of it in a good way against a really good opponent. They have a high tempo and good skills, but we managed well. Just what was a key factor in the game. Now we are leaving home with a good result. It was well done guys, boasted Skullerud

He said before the game that Dinamo Zagreb were big favorites to take further. After the good result he had not changed his mind.

– Dinamo are still favorites.

Large rooms

Ángelo Henriquez sent home made the guide after 18 minutes, but Molde responded by Ola Kamara just a few minutes later. Skullerud think it was important to get the levy instantly after goal.

– It gave us more energy. We gave away a chance for two minutes, then they scored on a play we should avoided. But getting the early levy was obviously important, said Skullerud.

Beyond the game pushed Dinamo on for goal but leaving large rooms that Molde could counter-attack. It almost resulted in a goal on a few occasions.

– As you saw we had two good opportunities for counterattacks, but we were tired. We defended very well, but many players were tired. It’s one thing to want, but we ran out of energy gradually, said Skullerud.

Surprisingly formation

Dinamo Zagreb came out in 3-5-2 from the start, which surprised Skullerud bit. He had enough envisioned another formation. MFK even came in 4-5-1.

– I think they thought we came with our normal formation – with two strikers. Bit surprising was that, but we saw they did the same in Luxembourg, so we were prepared that it could be a possibility, said Skullerud.
