Saturday at 11 o’clock, Norwegian time, play Real Madrid’s first friendlies in pre-season. The match will be played on giant Melbourne Cricket Ground – where Ronaldo, Bale and the rest of the star gallery sets new attendance record – against Roma.

– Determines us for these weeks

Ødegaard has received assurances that he will get a fair amount of playing time run-up to next season. Benitez also says that he will get chance to show off.

– The question is whether he is too young now. That’s what we have to decide. Now he train with us. So we decide for these weeks. I want to see him in a position where he thrives, does well and can get some matches. I am very pleased with him.

With that confirms he is practically the Aftenposten and other media have written previously: Ødegaard’s future is still unclear, but a loan to another club is a very appropriate choice, probably the most real, unless 16-year-old’s performances in pre-season is so good that Real Madrid management believes he is good enough to play first-team football for giant club on a regular basis already.

Spanish expert uncertain

After Ødegaard first lagsdebut last matchday against Getafe last season, asked Aftenposten several Spanish journalists about how they thought Ødegaard played next season.

– It is impossible to know how Ødegaard plays next season. But what I can say is that Real Madrid management are very pleased with him. He’s going to be with the first team throughout the pre-season, and on the basis of how he does it, they will take a decision, said a journalist for Radio Marca, Antón Meana.

– I do not think he’s playing in the first team at Real Madrid, each fall. He probably needs more time, both to adapt to the level and style of play, but also the language and culture. I think he is seconded, and then to another La Liga club. Getafe, Espanyol or Rayo Vallecano may be applicable. There are clubs that have a good relationship with Real Madrid, said Goal.com Madrid correspondent, Alberto Piñero.

PS! 24. July Australian time, play Real Madrid against Manchester City. There will probably Norwegian Bersant Celina also a chance to show off.

PS 2! The match between Real Madrid and Roma broadcast on TV channel MAX Saturday at 11.
