– This is one of the most important games of the year, and we managed to beat them on a day where not everything worked just perfect, delicious. And an extremely important victory considering how we are situated on the table. Although it gets tough then we go for the gold, says Alexander Mathisen told Aftenposten.

Nearly 16,000 spectators followed Derby on Superbowl arena. They did see a Ullevaal wrapped in thick Lillestrom smoking, so that settlement was delayed for a few minutes. After 65 minutes of play trampled same Mathisen down right in front of your guild. He sent out a good post that Lillestrom blockers Marius Amundsen trusted on their own network.

2-0 to the home side. “Quiet in the barn,” sang VIF supporters.

Rekdal stood with his back to

Several goals were not. And Vålerenga climbed onto 2nd place at the table. Six points behind league leaders Rosenborg.

– It was very nice to get to such a match. Especially considering that injuries have ruined much of my season. But now I’m injury free and know that the shape really is going on. And when the team wins and I’m injury free, it’s all good, says the 28-year-old Oslo-boy modestly.

– Rekdal stood with his back to when you took the penalty. What are your thoughts about it?

– He usually does it when we get a penalty. Possible he was extra scared when I’d take it. But I’ve tended to take part penalties under him earlier, and when Daniel Fredheim Holm is damaged, it was clear before the match that I should take it.

– How was the pressure?

– A little pressure is what the. Home against Lillestrom. And there stood a 2nd place in the table. But it must only block out and concentrate on what to do, says Mathisen.

– Not a coincidence that Alex decided

He has played under Rekdal in VIF last time “In ” was here. And in Aalesund during the same man. Rekdal brought him back to VIF also in his second term as chief here. And now it was Mathisens turn to end up in the lead role.

– I’m not the type who loves attention. It may ask the other players about. I do not run in front of the camera as soon as I get the opportunity. But of course it was delicious with such a struggle, says Mathisen and grins.

The sympathetic Oslo-boy gained praise also to the trainer.

– It is no coincidence that it was Alex who came forward and decided this. He has a large capacity and working hard. There was no question he would play. His problem is injuries. When he is injury-free, he is an important player, and now he begins to get in great shape too. It’s nice that he gets little attention, says Rekdal and smile.

Will create fall-voltage

– The back to when punishment would be?

– Yes. I have reason only felt safe when I took penalties themselves. It is absolutely terrible when others take. As active I gave never from me any penalties. But if I could take it today, I’m not sure, said the former England captain and chuckles.

He says the same thing he said to Aftenposten all summer: the dream is goldeffects, but that the door at six points up to Rosenborg is great. But hope lives by three important points in the derby game.

– Vålerenga has always ambition to win. Rosenborg has a comfortable lead. But we’ll see how it goes. Maybe we can manage to create some excitement during the autumn.

Kippe not worried

The autumn looks different for guests from Romerike. Captain Frode Kippe know how quickly things can turn around in this game. But is aware of the seriousness of the situation.

– The most important thing for us is that the club survives. We have a strained economy, and we will work as hard as rock to win football games ahead. We have to start winning. We have struggled in a half months now. But if there is reason to worry I do not know. We will keep us away from the worst relegation zone. But we know it’s evenly, both up and down on the table, says LSK captain told Aftenposten.

There are five points down to direct relegation zone for “canaries”. Meanwhile, the distance is not larger upwards before approaching the teams that are chasing behind medal spots.

Vålerenga swapped with Stabæk, and has a one-point lead on Bob Bradley’s men. Saturday meet the two at Nadderud.

– They surprised us a little in the game at Ullevaal which they won. It shall not be allowed this time, says Kjetil Rekdal and smiles.
