These may stand in the way of Ødegaard in Real Madrid – Aftenposten

Rafa Benitez (55) must get rid of a number of players before the start.

23. August open Real Madrid La Liga season away against Sporting Gijon. By that time, the new coach Rafael Benitez take a number of tough choices.

According to the Madrid newspaper Marca must first team squad shrunk to 23 players before the start. At the moment counts squad at least 28 players. With a month left of the international transfer window may be more buying and selling players.

A number of players are assured a place in the first team squad. Martin Ødegaard (16) is one of the players to an uncertain future the coming month. If his place in the first team squad when the seriousness really begins? And if not, he will play for the reserves? Or will he be loaned to another club to get more first team experience?

The other players who are uncertain the first team place is Denis Tsjerysjev, Lucas Silva, Asier Illarramendi, Fábio Coentrão and Marco Asensio. There is also uncertainty about Borja Mayoral role.

Martin Ødegaard (16): The Norwegian great talent got their first A-team minutes for Real Madrid against Getafe in May. Ødegaard did start the first leg at Real Madrid summer tour against Roma, but has not been playing in the subsequent games against Manchester City and Inter Milan. A loan to another La Liga club emerging as a topical solution for the upcoming season.

Denis Tsjerysjev (24): The Russian player did very well on loan at Villarreal last season. He came in at halftime for Ødegaard in the friendly against Roma, and has impressed at Real Madrid’s summer tour. He came into all training matches, and scored the 4-1 goal against Manchester City.

Lucas Silva (22): The Brazilian midfielder has been swapped into all friendlies. Silva was as Ødegaard taken to Real Madrid in January, but got only eight matches during the spring season (three from the start). Casemiro has been brought back from Porto and Real Madrid has for many non-European players in the squad. A loan is very appropriate for Silva. The player also has even opened for this in interviews.

Asier Illaramendi (25): The midfielder was named the market when Real Madrid bought him from Real Sociedad in 2013. He has not, however, managed to play their way to a permanent place on the all-star Real Madrid midfield. In his first season he got 15 games from the start in the league, last year he started ten games. Illaramendi still have a few weeks in which to fight his way into the team, but a sale is applicable.

Fábio Coentrão (27): The rapid-back has struggled much damage since transition to Real Madrid in 2011. He was about to go to Manchester United last summer, but the transition stranded. Now Real Madrid want to get rid of the Portuguese.

Marco Asensio (19): The Spanish winger was acquired in January, but was allowed to continue in Mallorca on season-long loan. There he was playing six games, three from the start. Asensio doubt for Spain under U19 Championship earlier this summer, but a path to the first team seems long at this stage. A loan to another La Liga club seems like the most likely of Asensio this season.

The Madrid-based journalist Alberto Piñero think Ødegaard will be loaned out.

– club management would look Ødegaard in action during pre-season. That was probably why he started against Roma. But he is not as mature as the rest of the players yet, and there is enough perhaps why he has not played in the other matches. I think he should be lent, says Piñero Aftenposten.

Real Madrid have left friendlies against AC Milan and Tottenham, and will meet Brann at Ullevaal 9 August. These battles will help to define the immediate future of Ødegaard and other players vying for a place in the first team squad for Real Madrid.

In a few weeks we get the answer. Then Rafa Benitez added cabal for season 2015/2016.
