(Procycling.no) Thor Hushovd will try to form a Norwegian cycling team at the top international level.
The former star cyclist hoping to have a Norwegian team started, which is guaranteed a place in rides such as the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France, during eighteen months.
– I have plans to pull off a Norwegian cycling team. A team at the top level, ie a WorldTour team from 2017 says Hushovd to TV2.
Hushovd said the team is scheduled to be started with competitions in Tour of Down Under that year.
– First I have to build up the team and get it up and running. Then I’ll be directing it in a way or another, said Hushovd.
According to Johan Kaggstad should a verdenstourlag have an annual budget of 100 million a year.
– It may not be impossible, but it takes maybe time to get guaranteed for operation over several seasons, says Kaggestad.
