Beating the world’s best

France has been the world’s best handball in recent years and have only since 2008 won two Olympic gold medals, three World Championship gold and two European Championships gold medal. – Today it’s nice. It has not been so nice earlier. I have struggled to get into the championship. I’ve worked a lot with myself. We’re working your ass out of his pants, said Erevik.

Tung start

But Norway came lopsided from the start and at one point led France 6.3 before Norway started to recoup opponent. Then followed layers each other closely although Norway led to the break. But ten minutes in the second half things began to happen.

– We came back but we remain calm. Also, we are the best. From 20-25 minutes we are best against France. I can not wait to get in the locker room and enjoy this with the guys. This is huge for Norwegian men’s handball, says Bjarte Myrhol.

The drama was great throughout the match and national team coach Christian Berge fired up sharply when Norway got two minute penalty for scarce 48 minutes. The expulsion came because of wrong switch. And it looked like a totally correct decision and dramatic for Norway in the part of the game. But Norway managed to get through the expulsion in a masterly way. And it laid the foundation for achievement.
