Mikkelsen on 3rd place – Dagbladet.no

Andreas Mikkelsen (26) is in 3rd place after the first two speed tests of Rally Monte Carlo on Thursday.

The Norwegian was third on the first two speed tests in asphalt and snørallyet the Mediterranean, and in summary is he 20 seconds behind leading Kris Meek from Britain. The reigning World Champion and big favorite to a new world title, French Sebastien Ogier is on 2nd place with 6.9 seconds up to Meeker.

Mads (28) is at 6.- place after the rally first day. He is underperforming by 35.3 seconds.

– Monte Carlo is a very demanding race when the conditions are as they are, with good grip in some places, and snow and ice elsewhere, said Østberg in a comment.

– But I think we have had a good start to the race. There are 14 stages again, so much remains to be done, but always good to get OK start. We have changed little in note our system, which should work for the better. We have prepared it well. But it was still a bit unusual when we came into competition mode, and I must have a little more experience to be able to leverage improvements. I think it will be better tomorrow when we run into the light, said Østberg.

Monte Carlo Rally ends with speed samples 14 to 16 Sunday.
