Lund Svindal expects downhill start Saturday – Dagsavisen

By Per-Kristian Eriksen

KITZBUHEL: Aksel Lund Svindal attended the prize giving ceremony for the combination Friday night. Where he said he expects to run performs Saturday.

– I’m a little stiff in the muscle right now. Therefore, it becomes entitled to the physiotherapist after I’m back at the hotel. I hope it works out so I run on Saturday he said in a statement from the stage where the prize ceremony took place.

He went over to a piece down the slalom route, given a rotation and a bit of pain in the left thigh, but both sports director Claus J. Shake and Kjetil Jansrud did not mean it was very dramatic. Both believed at least that Svindal would not get problems running Saturday’s Hahnenkamm downhill.

Sets Saturday

On the Norwegian runner hotel later Friday night, confirmed coach Christian Mitter that Svindal most likely Saturday.

– axle running. He is a little stiff in the back of the left thigh, but he gets the follow-up of our manual therapist in both evening and Saturday morning before the race. When we assume that he be on the starting line, and once he is on the starting line so he is 100 percent, said Mitter to the Norwegian press.

– How would it be to run the world’s tricky downhill route with tension in one thigh?

– Alpine skiers running rarely unless they have pain anywhere, disarmed the Norwegian national team.

Triple

Because Svindal ran out and Jansrud missed, was the triple French in combination. Neither the Austrian Marcel Hirscher came unscathed through the challenging slalom portion. He hooked midway down on the track, but ran to the finish on clear bestetid. Without hook he’d taken victory.

Instead, it was Alexis Pinturault, the Frenchman with a Norwegian mother, who took the victory ahead of teammates Victor Muffat-JeanD and Thomas Mermillot Blondin.

Aleksander Aamodt Source was best Norwegian in 11th place, while Kjetil Jansrud drove into the 13th best time.

Won super-G again

Earlier Friday drove Aksel Lund Svindal into his seventh World Cup victory this season in the super-G race in Kitzbuehel.

– This is an insanely good season for my part. The whole team is the help to highlight good. I would probably say that what is happening is almost a little wild, he told Norwegian journalists in the target area after victory was assured.

He had the American Andrew Weibrecht in the square behind it. It boasts 31 hundredths. Austrian Hannes Reichelt took the final podium position and was 42 hundredths behind, while there was little rod out for Kjetil Jansrud which ended in fourth place.

He was 11 hundredths behind Reichelt after a race that was not nailed. Aleksander Aamodt Source made a couple of big mistakes along the way and ended a piece behind.

– I knew I made a little mistake in oblique run, so there was not quite perfect. I could also have had a little better direction into the goal here, but until Hausbergkanten was quite small gripe. There will never be an ideal, but this was great, commented Svindal even driving her said.

Not sure

It was a smooth and tight races in perfect conditions with bright sunshine and blue skies. The track was fast and technically demanding. There were challenges that made it difficult.

– I was unsure if this would hold when I saw my time in goal. Whilst it was a very tight races until Weibrecht came and took the lead with 45 hundredths. When I beat him by three tenths, I had a very good feeling, but on the other hand I had the two main contenders right behind me in Reichelt and Jansrud. Therefore I could not be sure, and there I was in no way either, but it went well, told Svindal.

He took his second victory in the super-G in Kitzbuehel and has four additional podiums.

– Was it a difficult races?

– There is very high speed at the bottom. Through oblique run down towards the finish there was not much to go on. There were small margins and hard bottom, as well as the gate high there so many ran out. Otherwise the trail very classic and nice set. It was rhythmic and good, he explained. (NTB)
