Oilers playfully showed double-digit lead of the league – Bergens Tidende

The star shock opened but Oilers showed quality and strength as they turned to the easy victory.

Oilers Stjernen 1.5

It started in the worst possible, but ended well after all.

Oilers have struggled with the Star earlier this season, but Saturday there was class difference between the teams in 55 minutes. With three new points have Oilers acquired a solid hatch on top of the table. 11 points separates down to Lorenskog second. Lørenskog do have a game in hand over Oilers but be Sunday against strong Sparta. Lose those points where the Oilers have put themselves in a fantastic position with a view to defend last year’s league title when 13 rounds remaining.

– We played like hockey as I like to see. With great aggressiveness, high tempo and good effort. We won the puck in favorable situations and pressed firmly into. This was probably one of the better home games we have played this season, said Oilers coach Petter Thoresen.

– The early goal against functioned more like a wake than anything else, says Thoresen.

Before the match he made a number of changes to the team. So he has had a habit this season, chose Thoresen reshuffling of three of four rows. It gave the results he had hoped for.

– We beat Lillehammer 1.3 last, but I was not happy. Then you have to change. It is the coach’s job. I was a little curious about how the new ranks would deliver, and then it was good to see that all actually delivered good, says Thoresen.

Difficult start

Everything did not go smoothly for the Oilers from start Saturday. Only 24 seconds were played when Nicklas Bröms gave asterisk lead. The Swede received the puck in the middle zone, challenged Johannes Johannesen, slipped past and set the game’s first goal on backhand from close range.

Mathias Trettenes, moved into that center for the occasion, were active and engaged in the physical game from start . Along with numerous mates Petter Røste Fossen and Philippe Cornet selected Stavanger boy positively in multiple switches before the good game finally gave determine the result. Until Played by Nick BRUNETEAU was Trettenes confident and skilled as he surely hit the 1-1 past Brady Hjelle in the Star-target towards the end of the first period.

Brady Hjelle played a good in star’s goal was missed completely when Oilers took the lead 24.48. With a player more on the ice gave Hjelle puck over to Josh Soares after a cruel bad pass. Elite Series points king could barely gotten an easier job when he arranged 2-1 in the empty goal. Goal ensured that Soares now has points in 18 straight games.

As easy did not Dan Kissel it when he shot into 3-1 soon after. The puck was dropped in front of Hjelle. Forsberg won the duel, the puck bounced out to Kissel who took two cutting inwards and leave it in the hoop. Thus a small comfortable tomålsledelse the Oilers before the third period.

Ladies Night with Rokseth

Ruben Smith stood well in goal for the Oilers and saved several dangerous chances – especially towards the end of the middle period. Smith injured himself earlier in the period, and signaled to the bench that he had to change. After gaining a few seconds to gather himself, he decided however to continue the fight. Smith has famously struggled with a hip injury all season.

In the third period continued Oilers to control the game. Dan Kissel put their second goal when he poked a rebound from Hjelle in powerplay. Daniel Bøen Rokseth, who played a very good match, had the honor of finishing it all when he shot into 05.01 towards the end – after good work by Tommy Kristiansen front Hjelle.

– Now it begins to look very bright, says Daniel Bøen Rokseth.

Oilers-back delivered a good fight against the Star and like the development team has had in recent weeks.

– We had not really expected to get such a large hatch on the table top. But we’ve been good lately. We do not give away so many points, says Rokseth.

– It is approaching something. The arrow points definitely the right path. We appear robust. We continue to play like this, I do not for me that we should give away very many points in series ending. We are not quite there yet, but we begin to approach something like a safe hatch on top of the table, says sports director Pål Haukali Higson.
