Cardiff ber manager association sjef go av – Dagbladet.no

Cardiff has asked Richard Bevans to resign as head of the Manager Association (LMA) after the association’s support for Malky Mackay.

Manager Association asked Friday publicly apologized for supporting the declaration, which was met with a storm of criticism.

Mackay, who was fired in Cardiff in December, exchanged according to the Daily Mail, a series of racist, sexist and homophobic text messages with Iain Moody when they worked together in the Welsh club.

The revelation led to Mackay did the vacant manager job at Crystal Palace. Moody had to resign his position as sports director at London club.

Thursday went round the association with a statement of support to Mackay where text messages were explained that he “let off steam with comradely SMS gossip with a friend.”

This led to sharp criticism including from organizations working against racism and discrimination, and LMA was accused of trivializing Mackays offensive text messages.

– A managers behavior should show the players and staff that all forms of discrimination are unacceptable. Therefore we find it reprehensible that LMA issued a statement that tried to explain away deeply offensive racist comments like “buddy gossip,” according to a statement from Cardiff on Friday.

– If this is LMAs standpoint, we believe Richard Bevan should resign.

LMA apologized in a statement Friday wording in support statement to Mackay.

Mackay led Cardiff to the playoffs for the first time in 51 years, but he was fired after Having fallen out with club owner Vincent Tam. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was picked to replace him.
