Horrific scenes: Sejersted picked up by helicopter after bad fall – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): The Norwegian skier lotte smiseth sejersted fell badly in downhill race in Altenmarkt and was taken to hospital by helicopter.

24-year old had a good start but then it went completely wrong. Fart Specialist lost control, fell and landed in the safety net brutally.

Smiseth Sejersted crying loudly and screamed in pain. Ground crew quickly came up to her and summoned the helicopter sporenstreks. Shortly after, was 24-year-old picked up by helicopter and taken to hospital.

– This looks really good, said Eurosport commentator Björn Fager Lind then Sejersted were transported by helicopter.



Fearing serious injury

The extent of damage is not yet known, but the Norwegian skier has always been conscious.

– We have not received any information from of a hospital yet, says alpinist the sports director Claus Ryste Dagbladet.

– We fear that this may be severe, but it is currently only speculation. Let us hope that instinct my not match this time, said Shaker.

Teams Colleague Kjetil Jansrud did not like what he saw.

– So not good. Retrieved helicopter. Hopefully it goes well but looked like she had pain in the knee, writes Jansrud on his Twitter account.



Not the first time

Sejersted was unfortunate also last year when she fell badly in Val d ‘Isere in December. She suffered when a head injury that caused her to lose the entire season.

She was back with fresh courage this season but today it went sadly wrong again.

Also Ragnhild Mowinckel drove in Altenmarkt. She is in 11th place after a scant 40 runners have been downhill. American Lindsey Vonn who has taken a clear lead in the race, 91 hundredths ahead of Canadian Larisa Yurkiw.
