Mjøndalen camp rocked by shock damage: – It is cruel – Dagbladet.no

ISACHSEN STADIUM (Dagbladet): After 1-1 against Start is Mjøndalen undefeated after seasonal first three Premier League matches. Following the settlement was however a sad bunch that was left in the locker room at Isachsen Stadium.

The reason is the severe damage attacks stjerna Vamouti Diomande suffered after 56 minutes of play.

– It is a cruel knee injury. He is possibly operated already tonight. It was a great blow to us. And very, very sorry for “Dio”, says coach Vegard Hansen Dagbladet.



Sent to hospital

Diomande first received treatment for nearly ten minutes before he was taken off the field and sent to hospital Drammen.

– Right now he is in the hospital and is being investigated. We’ll see throughout the evening. There are probably a serious injury, says sports director in Topsham Kenneth Karlsen Dagbladet.

MJØNDALEN trainer will not speculate on whether the injury could be career-threatening, but states that the season is over for whatever Diomande. And Hansen does not deny that it can affect the team opportunities to stay in the Premier League.

– He’s a special player. He has speed and skill that few players in Norwegian football has. It is a fight battles for us, it is not going to hide it. It becomes difficult to replace Dio, Hansen says.



– Incredibly sad

Midfielder Mads Gundersen scored his first goal in the Premier League when he scored the rebound from Erik Central Gardens penalty. A penalty Diomande were given when he was fouled by Alex De Starts John early in the 2nd half.

Meanwhile confirms MJØNDALEN sports manager that they will help Diomande as well as possible in the future.

– He is the best hands. We have in clients who follow him up. We hope that this goes well and that he is going as quickly as possible back again, says Karlsen.
