Now more goals do 19-year-old to a key player for the capital club.

– He skating just the kick I asked him to do, over the wall and back into the corner. It is something I have done many times before, says Kjetil Rekdal about Herman Stengel 7-0 goal.

19-year-old Stengel has long been considered one of Norway’s largest midfield talents, but some distinctly måltyv have he never been. Last year there were two goals for the first team for Stengel. The same number was in the cup match against Lokomotiv Oslo Tuesday.

The first goal was a well-placed shot in the corner, and ten minutes after the break turned Stengel a free kick in the net. And this can only be the start of a more målfarlig Stengel in the future.

Need multi goals

– I’ve played many games in the premier league and 1 . division without scoring, so it’s time to come up higher in pitch and get some goals. The more goals you score, the more important you are. Then you noticed and make a difference, says Stengel.

Kjetil Rekdal are very pleased with what he has seen of the 19 year old the last time, but calls that Stengel even more goals from midfield man.

– It is very important that he scores more goals, says Rekdal, before continuing:

– Herman has taken major steps in the winter. He has become more robust and agile. He has taken a nice step forward, says Vålerenga coach.

Among the things midfielder has worked to develop, is the payoff on a free kick.

– I have stood with Christian Grindheim and Sivert Heltne Nilsen and practiced before the game. I’ve actually done in the winter, so it’s lovely that it succeeds, says Stengel.

So far this season it has been a struggle from start to the series for the midfielder.

– I only get to stand on, continue and hope it gets fixed starting place, says 19-year-old.

He was only one many teens who did show against Lokomotiv Oslo at Frogner Stadium Tuesday.

Most attention got 19 years old Moussa Nije, who scored a hat-trick in 14 minutes.

– It was very fun, I enjoyed it on the pitch, says the dribble happy wing player of great victory.

At the young players showed their best side looked coach Kjetil Rekdal.

– There’s people struggles they need, with little public and the press. I am very happy today. We play an amazing good first half, he said.
