Johaug confronts Norwegian press: – Provocative! – Aftenposten

skiing stars are tired “panty questions” and focus on her intimate privacy.

Next weekend concludes Therese Johaug (26) cross-country season with the 38 koilometer long Skarverennet, which runs from Finse in Hordaland to Ustaoset Buskerud.

26-year-old are finishing a very eventful season, which has passed three World Championship gold and four World overcomes and a second place in the World Cup overall.

But the season also contained things like Johaug not as happy with. Among other she had a question about what kind of panties she wears under ski suit on one of the press conferences during the WSC in Falun.

– I prefer boxer, it’s perfect, responded Johaug polite, before she later in the championship said it was a question that caused her to react.

Johaug: – Provocative!

In an interview with EGER magazine tells Johaug more about how she perceives the Norwegian press.

– I begins the having some years of experience now and I do not accept everything. I have become better to speak if there is something I do not like. It has probably something to be more confident to do well. The press has become more tabloid and is more concerned with creating headlines to get clicks than creating something with real content and message, says Johaug interview.

– It is provocative! This is a full-time job my and I will be taken seriously, not being asked about my intimate privacy or what kind of panties I use, says Therese Johaug.

100% Sports editor Bertil Valderhaug is only partially agree with Therese Johaug.

– There is twofold. I agree with her that such questions do not belong in such kind of situations (at press conference before an important race) and the World Championships, there were several examples of questions that revolve around such things, says Valderhaug.

Editor: – Embarrassing and stupidity

– When sports journalism is all about such things, it is simply embarrassing and stupidity, he adds – and continues:

– There I headed little on is that she did not respond there and then. It did Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen.

– Something that is important to say is that there is this sports journalism is all about. These are just a few examples of questions that should not been set, said 100% Sport editor, who has previously served on the board of Norwegian Sports Journalists Association.

In the interview with EGER magazine – where Johaug set up as model and says that she loves to be styled and groomed with – she says that she believes that Norwegian press sets for large claims.

– I also think the Norwegian press has been demanding when it comes to sporting performance. A bronze becomes almost seen as a loss – only gold is good enough. Here are the Swedes much easier to excite, says Johaug.

The Refs are not Bertil Valderhaug agree.

– Expectations create one myself and I actually do not think the girls have somewhat less expectation own performance than the press has. But we should also fit us so it is not like that which is good is not good enough, says 100% Sport editor.
