Kristoff will top the world rankings with Roubaix success – TV 2

Roubaix (TV 2): Alexander Kristoff took his 11th victory this season when he won Scheldeprijs on Wednesday. The victory came just three days after Flanders triumph and made the Norwegian historically.

No riders have previously won three day race De Panne, Flanders and Scheldeprijs in a week.

Sunday he can write themselves into the history books again. With victory or 2nd place in the Paris-Roubaix he will pass Richie Porte and be the first Norwegian to top rankings of the International Cycling Union (UCI).

Porte has collected 303 WorldTour points so far this season. Kristoff has 233 points. A first place on Sunday rewarded with 100 points, while 2nd place gives 80 points.

– It would be cool, but it’s the end of the season it counts. Porte should run more races ahead as I will not run. I’m done with WorldTour races until Switzerland around. It’s been a while, says Kristoff TV 2.

– Do you feel like the world’s best cyclist?

– I do not have that feeling. I feel like the same man, but I see the rankings that I have a good chance, he smiles.

Last year it was bright, fall and punctures for Team Katusha -rytteren in Paris-Roubaix.

– J I punctured in Arenberg forest, and then it was over for me. If I’m going to win Sunday, I must have a little luck and escape trouble in crucial phases. If there is some loose, I think it will be hard to run it again, says Kristoff.
