From almost-bankrupt finale
Larvik delivered a solid team effort, with a brilliant goalkeeper in Sandra Toft end, a defense that was stopped up in the second half, and at times a sparkling attacking play, where Linn-Kristin Riegelhuth Koren was the top scorer with nine goals.
Anja Hammerseng-Edin scored on four of six shots, and they are very excited that strong collective that has taken Larvik from triumph to triumph this year – despite a certainty that the club anytime could become bankrupt because of the tremendous economic problems.
There are only two months ago the team decided to continue operations.
Nevertheless, they have the way clear to break into the Champions League final, and row up 15 straight wins in Europe this season.
– Hard to understand
Opposite Dagbladet draws Anja until his wife and Larvik captain Gro Hammerseng-Edin as a unique focal point for all players in the tough times.
– It’s almost a little difficult to understand that we are in the Champions League final, for it has been so lots of years … To do it here then, it’s big. Now it’s just past the run remains.
– And I’ll be honest, without being biased, I think Gro has made a completely raw job into the play group in the difficult period . She has been at mass meetings, received information and told us players only the most necessary, so we have been able to relax and just think about what we should, namely to play handball, says Anja Hammerseng-Edin Dagbladet.
– Girls interprets much
In the Champions League final as they did not like a team that has suffered through major concerns. Larvik looked like a team that had a good time out there, and in many ways has parquet been a free zone for Larvik players.
– We girls interprets so much. We hear about things that are in the media, which sometimes are exaggerated and sometimes perhaps understated, and then we’ll hear things from people on the streets. For us players, it has been very important to have one to relate to that can tell us the facts. And the job, which really is a crap job, took Gro wearing, says Anja Hammerseng-Edin.
– She has had a unifying effect on the group, for the information we have received, so it has been easy to deal with sport. If one goes around and worry about what might happen, so performing not.
– Good Energy
Yesterday there was so little concerns that Anja barely felt tired after the semi-finals.
– It was so good flow and energy out there that barely notice you’re getting tired. And it’s so wonderful to perform when it matters.
It was obvious many who noticed the job Gro Hammerseng-Edin let down when bankruptcy specter ravaged Larvik. She was in fact elected as a director of the new Larvik board.
– Tried to be positive
Gro chooses to commend the entire play group for how they handled the bankruptcy threat.
– It’s nice to get positive feedback, but it was something we stood together as a team. I tried to let it affect me as little as possible and trying to be a positive person in the middle there. If it has been successful, so I’m very happy for that, says Hammerseng-Edin Dagbladet.
While it rushed around her, it was Gro ready for her to act calm situation .
Hisigpropp
– I am in many ways a hothead on the pitch, but otherwise I feel it’s a strength that I try to stand firm and not let me stress that easy.
– And as a group, I think we handled it very nice, and it’s because we are professionals and we care about each other, are good at taking care of each other.
It should also during the Champions League final against Buducnost tomorrow. And they win it as going too Gro Hammerseng-Edin to take off.
