Touched Gerrard after parting: – You are the best fans in the world – Aftenposten

After 17 years playing Steven Gerrard’s last match at Anfield.

It was a battle for three points in the Premier League but really acted everything at Anfield on Saturday afternoon about Steven Gerrard.

When the Liverpool captain entered the pitch with his three daughters Lilly, Lexie and Lourdes stood players from both teams honor guards. The faithful supporters at The Kop showed off a large mosaic with “S8G” while supporters of one long held up sheets that formed the word “Captain.”

– Before the tears come: I’ve played in front of most fans in the world and I must say that you are the best of them all, Gerrard completed his speech with.



Lallana sent Liverpool lead

Jordan Henderson, who is expected to take over the captain duties by Gerrard next season, had the first attempt after 49 minutes. He did, however, not well enough the finish.

Liverpool had a couple of half-chances, but it was Palace-substitute Wilfried Zaha that would find the target in 60 minutes.

Under minutes after he entered pitch he sent guests in the lead. The goal stood even though replays showed that he was in a delicate offside position when his pass arrived.



Gerrards shot attempt did not succeed

Bolaise, which ravaged the Liverpool defense through much of the fight, hit the crossbar six minutes later.
