Bohinen: – My toughest challenge as a coach – VG

Despite seven straight defeats and growing skepticism about his un-Norwegian play, believes Sandefjord coach Lars Bohinen that it is more important than ever to go their own way.

– This is the toughest I’ve been involved in as a coach, and the first real adversity. Now it is more important than ever to continue with what the players have said they want, and to develop them as players and Sandefjord club, says lars bohinen VG.

After losing 0-3 home against Vålerenga, the seventh loss in a row since the victory against Sarpsborg 19 April, meetings Bohinen VG. He has just toured television cameras and reporters in the hallways inside the Complete Arena, where everyone wondering how Sandefjord be able to turn it around.

And especially if he does not soon go away from their ballbesittende 3-5-2 system; an alien bird in an otherwise quite conforming Norwegian football formation fauna. On TV Bohinen old boss on the national team, Egil “Drillo” Olsen, were particularly critical of the west folding ‘defense games.

And football fans sandefjord projections that gradually began to believe that the city could become something more than baseball and whaling stories begins to fear repeat of 2010. The time lost also made seven games in a row, over two periods even, and relegated with dismal 12 points.

– season best of us, has been the response from Bohinen to anyone who listened with block or tape recorder.

Opptur the rally

He believes that, playing wise was the fight against Vålerenga a big boost from some sad matches against Rosenborg (1-5) and Stabæk (0-4). But when the most obvious phrases have been delivered on the assembly line of players and coaches, Vålerenga soon on the bus to Oslo and VG asks how he really is to deal with adversity, he takes some time to think about it.

since retiring as a player has lars bohinen experienced continuous success. As sports director were two gold, in Vålerenga in 2005 and Stabæk in 2008. When he decided to try exercising the profession instead, he began in Asker in 2nd division and was one point away from promotion. There he managed however to first attempt in Sandefjord who last year won the 1st Division with 10 points down to layer number 2.

The results came on top of a playing career that included holding a World Cup, 49 caps and pro adventure to Nottingham Forest, Blackburn, Derby and Swiss Young Boys.

Excited strikers

– If we stand together and continue with what we have rehearsed on, it will loosen. And I’m not going to change anything. Bit flippantly said, I would rather be relegated. This is the way to play football on that I believe in. What others outside the team say, I can not think of now. We knew we had some question marks before the season, and are punished ruthlessly personal error on the locations of the pitch where it counts most, says Bohinen.

Among the question marks before the season was strikers. Pål Alexander Kirkevold, Kjell Rune Sellin and Jean Alassane Mendy have all scored many goals in 1st division. In a chat with VG before the season was Bohinen unsure if they came to take the level – and whether any would happen in time. After 10 matches are yet definitive two goals on Mendy (in the opening game against a pale Bodo / Glimt), zero Kirkevold and zero on Sellin albeit only recently returned from injury.

– yet it lacks a little. But it is related to the whole. If we continue to play as we have done, they will continue to come to the chances and then sitting there in the end, says Bohinen, who has previously revealed that Juventus is the lodestar for his Sandefjord.

Principle Fast

In a 3-5-2 providing flexibility and the ability to be deeply with many man while you can run more forward, the Italians played to four straight league title in Italy. June 6 awaits Barcelona in the final of the Champions League. Same day takes Bohinen and Sandefjord against Odd. Admittedly even appointed Norway Barcelona by coach Day Eilev Fagermo yet.

The contrast is great.

But for the man who in 1995 boycotted one cap against France because of the country’s nuclear test of nuclear weapons, it takes more than seven straight defeats to that the principles are violated.

– I sat a long-term plan as a coach when I started in Asker in 2nd division and it does not stop in Norway. Currently, I am one year ahead of schedule. And Molde away in the next game? That must be a suitable challenge for us now.
