Datis also got the contract to $ 35 million with the North, Central American and Caribbean Football Association CONCACAF TV rights to another tournament.

Distributed money
Three soccer tops in CONMEBOL, including the president of the Argentine associated AFA, Julio Grondona, should according to the indictment get $ 45 million in bribes for the contract. The rest would be distributed among other peaks.

Although his name is not in the indictment, was Grondona, who for many years was FIFA president Sepp Blatter’s closest co-worker, president of the AFA when the corruption allegedly occurred. He died in 2014 after 35 years as AFA boss.

The Argentine journalist Alejandro Casar, who has specialized in corruption in Latin American football, says Burzaco and Grondona stood apart very close.
