Ødegaard got pinched by Ronaldo when he finally got his debut – Aftenposten

16 years and 158 days old was Martin Ødegaard the youngest Real Madrid player.

MADRID (Aftenposten): May 23, 2015, a date that will be written in gold letters in Martin Ødegaard life and Norwegian football history.

It’s over a year since he debuted with a bang in the Norwegian league at age 15. Saturday evening achieved Martin Ødegaard (16) one of the most one can do as a professional footballer, playing first team football for Real Madrid.

The Norwegian 16-year-old replaced himself Cristiano Ronaldo, who prior had scored three goals, to standing applause from the home crowd at the mighty Santiago Bernabeu.

Turns forward

Ronaldo gave Ødegaard a good hug and a pat on the back, before the 16-year-old entered the turf with shirt number 41 on the back.

Most had predicted that Ødegaard would get a few minutes the end of the settlement, but the game clock at Santiago Bernabeu showed 57 minutes and Ødegaard turns giving him plenty of time to show what he is good for. And he made himself not cleared away. 16-year-old prov on technique, play understanding and overview that Norwegian football lovers have become so familiar with.

Among other things, he played free edge colleague Jesé, who, unfortunately for both Ødegaard and Real Madrid, failed to sell chance goal open.

Historic

16 -year-old is already history in so many ways. But with the debut at the Santiago Bernabeu, he wrote not only into the history books as the first ever Norwegian with playing for Real Madrid’s first team, he also became the youngest ever played an official match for the Spanish giants.

But the fight was settled long before Martin Ødegaard came onto the court.

After a quarter in the first half came the first goal – the game’s first chance. Left-back Marcelo denied him with a perfect cross that hit foreheads to … Guess once? Cristiano Ronaldo, of course.

The Portuguese – who before the game had secured the top scorer title in La Liga – nodded cash into the season’s 45 league goals.



Strange game

The first half became a strange affair. Getafe beat violently, and within four minutes the match was changed to 1-2.

But Real Madrid with Cristiano Ronaldo in the lead, would of course not be any worse. Big scorer who finished off for both a kick and a penalty – and ensured that the whites were again in the lead – 3-2.

Three minutes before the break was Getafe on the move again. Lacen equalized to 3-3, but after the break took Real Madrid completely override. Javier Hernandez and James Rodriguez scored each his goal and ensured that Real Madrid eventually cruised to victory.

Jesé scored the 6-3 after 71 minutes, before Marcelo scheduled end result of 7- 3 in overtime.
