Jonevret refuses to be depressed after 3-4: – Rogaland Avis

The fight against Vålerenga was a drama of the ordinary. When Christian Grindheim decided in overtime sank all Viking players down on the pitch in despair. Coach Kjell Jonevret refused nevertheless be depressed for too long.

– The loss recognized course bitter considering that we brought in Vålerenga 3-0 lead. Meanwhile, as we were not good in the first half and conceded everything for easy targets, says Jonevret.

He praises the players that they never gave up.

– They showed a fantastic morale and attitude. Now I think actually a little sorry for them, says Jonevret after Grindheim winning goal in overtime.

Nasty start

Homemade got a terrible start to the match. Already after six minutes tilted Ghayas Zahid ball over an advancing Iven Austbø, and then Indridi Sigurdsson strikes with a chest pass outside the 16-yard box, did the same man life even more sour for Viking.

– We were far from aggressive enough in the first place. Only then we sat Joackim Jørgensen down a notch to stave off Zahid in the space we got some lunne control. The players did the maximum to recoup themselves. They really should rodes that they never gave up.

So it was extra painful for Viking players to see how Christian Grindheim decided in overtime.

– We shall of course bring us much of what we did after the break in the next game, but today it kept unfortunately not fully inserted, he said.
