The Swedish World Cup hero Johan Olsson has decided to replace the traditional cross country with long runs. This venture will be with Aukland brothers in Team Santander.

It confirms the team’s manager, Nils Marius Otterstad, opposite NRK.

– Today (Friday) comes Johan Olsson to Norway and says he will focus 100 percent on long runs with us, says Otterstad to the channel.

This means that Olsson is among the athletes made will be exhibiting during Friday 2015/16 launch.

The Swedish 35-year-old has taken a medal in five consecutive championships. As recently he took gold at home in Falun on 15 km free technique.

– It means a lot to get enough a living legend in the team. It builds morale and indeed inspiration for the coming season, said Otterstad.

The manager says Olsson will follow the team’s collection program. According to the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter it’s about a commitment over two years where the main objective is Vasaloppet and overall win in the Ski Classics.

– Yes, of course. When I first start with this, then it is natural targets. That is what is motivation, says Olsson to dn.se.

Even after Falun Championships did Olsson clear that he had done his with the national team and the championship.

– What has done that it has taken some time, acting partly that I have received so many requests, but most that I have discussed with Anna (his wife) to see opportunities to make this commitment .

The news comes a few days after Anders Aukland (42) broke his leg in two places during a hike in Jotunheimen. Plans call for the veteran to be present at the launch Friday. Where he will talk about his own way forward after the accident on Tuesday.
