Players had to hospital after a pepper spray attack during the quarterfinals of the South American Champions League.
The second match between city rivals Boca Juniors and River Plate was stopped after 45 minutes Thursday.
Players from River got something that probably was pepper spray on them. Four men had to hospitals for treatment.
A Boca fan should have been behind the attack. It happened in the tunnel as the teams were going into the 2nd half. It was 0-0 after the first 45 minutes.
– I can not believe this. This is very disappointing, said Boca president Daniel Angelici.River Plate led 1-0 from the first match of the quarterfinals.
It took about an hour from spray-attack was carried out to fight definitely was stopped .
It is unclear whether the final round will be conducted. Argentine football has experienced a large number of violent incidents also in recent seasons.
